CELP CERTIFICATE EXAM

Certificate of English language proficiency (CELP)

This is a Certificate of English Language Proficiency (CELP). To be a holder, you will take 100 questions in 60 minutes.

Once you start, the time starts. Please note that you can not pause or stop the questions once you start.

These questions will test your knowledge on Syntax, Phonetics and Phonology, Semantics, Sociolinguistucs, Morphology and Pragmatics. These 6 areas are the areas of the English language.

The pass mark begins from 80% (and above). In order to be an eligible holder, you must not score below 80 as each question is 1 mark. Your CELP Certificate will be available as soon as you pass your examination.

All questions are in the multiple choice format. This means that for each question, you will have 4 options (a, b, c, d) to choose from. If after reading a question twice, you can not figure out the answer, you are expected to move on to the next question. Hence, answer all the ones you are sure of first and come back to answer the rest. Opportunity is given if you want to change an answer. This can be done before you click submit.
